We would like to update you on what is currently happening in Hersham, which is potentially quite a lot.
Hersham Golf Course. Many of us have received a flyer through our letterboxes from the developer for the golf course. As you may recall planning was granted in 2024 for the Redevelopment and change of use of the existing golf course to provide green infrastructure including Suitable Accessible Natural Greenspace (SANG)/Country Park and Biodiversity Site, together with 221 residential dwellings (Use Class C3), GP Surgery/Medical Centre (Use Class E(e)), Café (Use Class E(b)), associated infrastructure (sub-stations, access roads and parking) and landscaping, including a Local Equipped Area for Play (LEAP) following demolition of existing infrastructure, buildings and floodlit driving range. Those of you who are members of the golf course are aware that there has been no progress since that time. The developers are now intending to submit a revised planning application and are inviting everyone to a public exhibition at Lower Green Community Centre, Farm Road, Esher. KT10 8AU on Friday 5th June between 3pm and 7.30pm. Their website www.hershamfuture.co.uk will have the updated plans from Thursday 4th June. The online consultation will run from 4th June to 19th June. If you are able, please do look at these revised plans and comment.
Esher Rugby Club The club is holding members only consultations in early June regarding their plans to build on two of their underused pitches. If you are a member of ERFC, or you know someone who is, please do go along to have a look at these plans. It is your voice that will help shape Esher’s plans. We have been told all members have a vote, including parents of children playing in the mini’s, so please do make use of it.
Beech House Vets Beech House Vets are holding two consultation events regarding their plans to build a brand new veterinary surgery on the site of their current premises. These consultations are open to the public and will be held on Friday 5th June between 3pm and 6pm, and Saturday 6th June from 9am to 12noon at 14 Queens Road, KT12 5LS.
Air Products/Hersham Technology Park No further updates have been received from Berkeley Group, but we understand they will be submitting a planning application later this year for the Doctor’s surgery and associated land.
Burwood Road/Turners Lane Planning application number 2026/0447. The closing date for comments has been extended by Elmbridge to 8th June. If you have not yet commented, or would like to make an additional comment, there is still time to do so.
Mayfield Station Car Park It is 2026/0036, the Network Rail station car park west of Waterloo Court, Mayfield Road, KT12 5PL. A previous application was refused and this is the developers revised application, a Development comprising 23 residential units with associated car parking, cycle and refuse storage, landscaping, alterations to existing access and the relocation of the Maintenance Delivery Unit. There will likely be an increased demand for parking at our railway stations should any of the current applications mentioned in our previous email be successful, and the proposed loss of station parking will have a knock on effect on local roads. The closing date for making a comment is 11th June.
